Animals have rights.

We remind the world.

The National Animal Rights Day (NARD) is an annual day observed in more than 50 countries around the world, on the first Sunday in June, for the purpose of giving a voice to all animals and demanding their innate rights, which are currently completely ignored by humanity.

On this day, special public events are held in major cities around the world, to commemorate the billions of animals who die every year by human hands, educate the public on their rights, and celebrate the progress that is being made towards their liberation. With events in close to 170 cities each year, and thousands of people participating worldwide, our events have been dubbed “The biggest vegan collaboration of all time”, and they function as the global ‘Memorial Day’ and ‘Independence Day’ for the animals, combined.

This day will continue to be observed until humanity’s abhorrent treatment of animals – as depicted below – changes, and all animals are free, with their rights acknowledged and protected by law.

Our Events

The NARD events, respectfully but unapologetically, confront people with the animals they eat, wear, and experiment on, in order to open their eyes and inspire a lifestyle change. They also bring thousands of animal lovers and advocates around the world together, empowering them to keep fighting for animals. And most importantly, they provide millions of animals with the dignity they deserve: to be remembered, loved and celebrated.

The events include 2 parts:

  • A Memorial Ceremonyto commemorate the billions of animals who have died in the past year by human hands, often in the presence of some of the actual victims. The ceremony ends with publicly reading and signing The Declaration of Animal Rights.
  • A Celebrationof the progress that was made in the past year towards ending the suffering of animals and bringing forth their liberation, with plant-based food, speakers, entertainers and other attractions.
