Animals have rights.

We remind the world of that.

The National Animal Rights Day (NARD) is an annual day observed in more than 50 countries around the world, on the first Sunday in June. On this day, special events are held in dozens of major cities, for the purpose of giving a voice to all animals, and demanding their innate rights as living beings on planet Earth. 

The National Animal Rights Day will continue to be observed until humanity’s abhorrent treatment of animals stops, and all animals are free, with their rights acknowledged and protected by law. 

Our Events

The NARD events include 2 parts:

• A Memorial Ceremony – to commemorate the billions of animals who die every year by human hands, often in the presence of some of the actual victims who are given a proper funeral service. The Ceremony also confronts the public, respectfully but unapologetically, with the animals they eat, wear, and experiment on, in order to open their eyes. It concludes with the reading and signing of The Declaration of Animal Rights.

• A Celebration – to celebrate the progress that is being made towards the end of suffering of animals, and their future liberation. It also educates the public on the cruelty-free alternatives to using animals and animal products, with plant-based food samples, speakers and entertainers. 

NARD functions as Memorial Day and Independence Day for the animals, combined. It brings together thousands of animal advocates worldwide each year, empowering them to keep fighting for animals. As such, it has been dubbed “The biggest vegan collaboration of all time”!
