Los Angeles

The 3rd National Animal Rights Day (NARD3) was held for the first time in Los Angeles on Sunday June 9, 2013, on the Santa Monica beach. The event started with the usual requiem ceremony, only this time, it featured participants holding the bodies of real animals who have died in various industries, representing their millions of brothers and sisters who meet a similar fate every year. The Declaration of Animal Rights (now measuring 70 feet long) was read publicly and signed by the attending crowd. The second part of the day celebrated, as before, the alternatives that already exist to this sad reality, with a yoga session led by Charlotte Cressey, plant-based foods, live music, speakers, vegan martial arts demo, vegan fashion show, and more:
